Dancing the day away

Sure, I have things to work on that I probably could have worked on, but golly if the dancing wasn't just calling my name...

Started out going to a ball in Caledon without an escort.

It's amazing how a dance differs when you have an escort from when you don't. Wall-flower city for me.... Of course, I am too shy to really stand out or speak up, so of course I watched the others dance.

Mr Smashcan was so kind as to ask to stand up with me for the fifth and I gladly accepted. We danced the fifth and sixth before I suggested he dance with some of the other ladies on the sidelines.

After the dance with Mr Smashcan, I accepted an invitation to join Red for a little more informal and upbeat dancing. We danced and talked for a couple of hours at the Junkyard Blues Club. The DJ had a smooth voice and the more tequila he drank, the more fun he was on air.

We decided to change venues for a change in the music and ended up salsa dancing in Valentine. The music was upbeat and we just talked and danced. i don't think either of us noticed how tired we were from dancing for so many hours straight.

After the salsa dancing, we decided to explore the grounds a bit and ended up behind a waterfall in a cavern.

We managed to navigate the ledges of the cavern and spent a little time dancing together and taking in the great view. The place was so beautiful and the water sounded so soothing.

While we were up on ledge, Red pointed out a hot tub down below. We navigated our way to the floor of the cavern and Red did something I didn't expect: he jumped into the hot tup with his shoes on!

What could a girl do but follow suit? I jumped in with my shoes on too and the water filled the tub and swirled and steamed around us.

Relaxing as it was, Red was very tired and, dripping wet, we said goodnight and each went home.

Getting ready

Tonight I spent some time dancing at the Metronome to some 20s and 30s tunes. Apparently there was a costume contest - I didn't know about it, I just went for the music and atmosphere. Needless to say, I didn't win the contest! But Gabi always plays good tunes and I was just happy to be out dancing a bit!

After that I settled in at home and did a photo session for the promenade dress and then worked on making the vendor card template.

Still needs work and revisions, but it is a start anyway. I am definitely not entirely happy with it yet.

So I was working and all of the sudden I heard a rukkus outside. Turned out that there was an alien invasion going on in Tamrannoch! I tooka quick photo and ran back in the house to hide. I saw things burning and the aliens made this terrible noise that made my head pound.

Brave Caledonians were fighting the aliens and at one point Miss Tombola landed her flying device on my back lawn.

Eventually the flighting moved away and the noise dissipated. I came out from hiding in my house and resumed my work. As I was working on the vendor card template, I had the chance to talk to my friend Red for a while. I didn't get to see him, but we talked. He's been away for a while and it was good to talk to him again. I think he's feeling a lot better now than before he went away - he was much more lively than I remember him ever being. In any case, I am glad he is back and I look forward to more conversations between us.

More for the Store

Tonight I worked out a backdrop so that I can take photos for the advertising of my dresses for the store.

I think the backdrop works rather well so I can cut out the images and put them together in an advertisment.

Now I need to get some proper poses for the photo shoots...

A New Club in the Works

I spent a few moments today talking with SrLance Allen about his new club. He is working very hard on it. I wish him success.

Accomplished!

I spent a good portion of the day with Hu and Kira today. A friend of Kira's and Hu's is opening a new club called The Warehouse and we were there to dance and give some tips and opinions. The club owner, SrLance Allen, had put some "escort poses" boxes in the club and Kira showed us all how it worked - and more! We all just sat back and watched Kira as we talked.

Despite having a headache, I had a sudden urge to start trying to fix my dress. I had set it aside for several days because I was too frustrated to even look at it. It took several hours of reworking and reworking, but I finally got it to a state I could live with. Not exactly the design I intended, but close enough.

So I went back to the club to find Hu and Kira working on the interior design of the place. I showed them the dress, which they were pleased with. While I still need to make the sleeves and other decorations for it, the hardest part is finished. They congratualted me on finally getting it because they knew how frustrated I was with it.

So I decided to try the "escort poses" box and ended up looking something like a doll in a box with the new dress on.

I watched Hu and Kira build for a little while, but it was late and I went to bed.

I feel so much better now - so much more accomplished and so much closer to finally getting the store open. I told myself I would get the store open once this dress was finished, so now that I am closer to finishing it, I am starting to get excited about working on and building the store.
