Stories and Sailing

Tonight I listened to stories. I noticed a hubub across the train tracks in Tamrannoch and walked over to see what it was about. A large gathering of over 40 people were there and they were taking turn reading aloud stories they had prepared in advance for the evening. The stories were emotional and I enjoyed every one.

Just as the stories were ending, I got a message from Jasmyn asking to help her sail EMMA in a race as the sun was coming up. I had never sailed anything before, so I was of course, very nervous.

Well, we had technical difficulties right from the get go and just as we were picking up speed, we crashed into the shore. We came in second place though. Miss Rau won first place.

Then we watched some steam-powered motor boats race. What fun they must be! Much more powered and faster than the sailboats.

The men raced a grand race as the ladies looked on.

Lord Pimbroke (Sir Edward Pearse) won first place and Col. Hotspur Otoole won second.

A very fun evening - full of sharing and a good dose of competition!

Visiting with Friends

When I found Kira, she was setting up her new store - yes, another one! - and she was so excited to show me a likeness that a friend had made of her and Hu. It was an incredible likeness and I was most impressed. I got to be present when Hu saw it for the first time and he agreed that it was uncanny.

I soon found myself in Jasmyn's sitting room of her newly finished house. I believe she still has a few minor things to touch up and add, but overall, the house is finally finished! She even has a secret passage way, but I won't tell where it is. Needless to say, the whole of her house was impressive and I may just commission her to create such a lovely house for me someday.

When Jasmyn was called away, I went to Antiquity Township to have a good look around. I hadn't really looked through Township. I met His Grace Duke AngusGraham Ceawlin there and he showed me around a bit. We put up my sign for the Grand Opening party for my store in the town hall. We also had the luck of bumping into Col. Somme there. We discussed the forthcoming Antiquity ball for a bit, but before long I became fatigued and retired to my home for bed.

Now Open!

I did it! I got both stores open tonight!

First I finished putting up all of the vendor boxes in the Caledon Tamrannoch store.

Then I went to the [Everglow] store and put up all of the vendor boxes there.

Before making the vendor boxes live and for sale, I ran into Hu and Kira at her shapes store across the street. She showed me her progress on making her first skin. She's really come a long was since her last version that she showed me. I was really impressed. I think if she keeps the work up, she'll be designing saleable skins in no time!

So Hu and Kira walked over to my store with me and we worked out pricing together. Kira thinks I am selling myself short with the prices, but I think that for the Caledon market, they are fair. She said she bought a gown the other day for $800L and wedding dresses run $1500L to $2000L. I was amazed.

So we went to a yard sale and were playing on all the furniture for a while. I didn't stay there with them for long since I wanted to make the vendors in the Tamrannoch store live and for sale as well.

I went back to Caledon and proceeded to make all of the vendors live. Then I invited Jasmyn over. I promised her a dress in exchange for the building she made for me, so I thought I would let her choose, but also test the vendors as well. I gave her the money to buy the dress of her choice and she bought "Promenade in Maroon" (a persoanl favorite of mine) and we concluded that the vendors worked perfectly.

She put the dress on and it fit perfectly. She looked gorgeous!

And after a long few days and a lot of hard work, I said goodnight to Jasmyn and retired for the night. I will notify other individuals tomorrow of the opening.

A new Laurel Crown building

So many accomplishments tongiht.

First, I finished my vendor cards for the most recent dress for the store. I got them affixed to the vendor boxes on the wall.

Then, I spent a lot of time adjusting the permissions for all of the dresses to make them Mod/Copy/No Transfer. That finished, I spend a good deal more time stuffing each vendor box with its corresponding dress items and LMs. As I completed those, I took them all back into my inventory for storage.

Next, I walked around the backyard and caged all of the squirrels so they wouldn't get hurt during demolition and construction.

I then removed the existing store building.

When that was done, I put out the new store building that Jasmyn had made for me. She siad it was just good fun and practice to make the building, but whatever she calls it, I am glad she did it, because it is a wonderful spacious room for the store with a very pretty exterior! As I was working on it, Jasmyn came by to help me with the finishing touches.

We got everything in place and I went back to the backyard to let the squirrels out of their cages. I re-estabished their fencelines so that they wouldn't run out of the yard or into the pond.

I moved back into the store to start setting up the vendor boxes int he new space. Several people dropped by to see what we were up to. It was nice to see community interested in my work.

Just before I was to head off to bed, Hu and Kira dropped by to see the new building and my progress. They were very impressed.

My day was full, but very, very rewarding. I should have the store open tomorrow (I hope).

An evening with Jasmyn

Tonight I worked the vendor cards for the new dress and spent time arranging for them to go into the store. Jasmyn stopped by to chat while I worked.

In the midst of our discussion, Desmond invited me to his mansion to look at land int he next sim. I have been on the waiting list for another parcel for a branch store. Unfortunately parcels in the the sim being offered right now are to be woodsy, and more likely to lend themselves to residential as opposed to commercial.

Upon conclusion of our meeting with Desmond, Jasmyn and I met up with Hu and Kira. We discussed a few things, then went off to the Dogglounge for a bit of dancing.

When Hu and Kira left for issues with one of her stores, Jasmyn and I moved to her house to change our clothes. She had this wonderful place to show me - one of her favorite places in S: Avilion Garden.

We moved from the front garden into the grand ballroom danced together for a bit. The floor was glass and slick under my shoes, but the music was romantic and everything was so beautiful!. I vowed to go back to Avilion Garden again sometime.

But little did I know that Jasmyn was saving the best for last! She took me outside and down a flowered path.

And we ended up at one of the pretiest wedding ceremony spots I have ever seen!

Definitely a beautiful end to an evening well spent with a good friend!

EMMA - Caledon on the Sea

Today, I went sailing with Jasmyn. She bought a boat and called it EMMA. It was the best boat I have ever been on. She said it takes a lot not to capsize it, and I am glad we didn't turn over. We decided we needed to get a group together and go sailing. What a lovely day that would be!

Wallpaper!

I wallpapered my house today. What a lot of work! One never thinks it is going to be as time consuming as it ends up being. Jasmyn came over to keep me company while I finished up the upstairs.

Then Jasmyn invited me over to her place to see how she had wallpapered her house. Our houses were designed by the same architect, so it is interesting how we each decorate the same space. Her bedroom is soooo pretty!

I like spending time with Jasmyn. We have a lot in common and a lot to show each other.

Girls Day

I spent today wth Jasmyn Tammas. I called on her at her house and as talked in the sitting room, I commented on the wallpapers and images on her walls. She told me where i could purchase such finery, and we decided that rather than talk about it, we would take the trip out and view it all in person.

We spent a good deal of time sifting through the wallpaper samples and paintings. We met the lovely Miss Chere Graves in the shop who was looking for similar things for her new castle. As we talked of Caledon, she expressed a desire to see our lovely homeland.

We arrived to Caledon and were pleasantly surprised to see Mr. Magellan, my neighbor, in Victoria City.

Upon leaving Mr. Magellan, we moved our party to Silver Rose Designs where we showed Miss Graves the finest of the finery for Ladies' Fashions in Caledon. We did some shopping and Miss Tammas and I even modeled some of our own personal frocks for Miss Graves to see.

I soon began to droop from the long day previous and excused myself from the ladies to bed.

But as it was, I returned home to another letter from Dante. I am glad he wrote to me. I hadn't heard from him in some time and was beginning to worry. He is well and happy and has seen a great deal. I envy him and only wish I could have gone too. I am eagerly awaiting his return. There is nothing like the stories and photographs of a person who's only just returned from an extended expedition. My thoughts are with him as he travels the world.

A Lack of Gentlemen

Today I attended the Bookbinder's Ball in Caledon. Due to a lack of gentlemen, Miss Jasmyn Tammas and I danced together for most of the night. She really does dance well and I think a nice gentleman would be lucky to stand up with her in the future.

The ball was very nice. It felt good to get all dolled up again and go to a formal dance. I was pleased to wear my new dress to an actual Caledon ball.

I think Miss Tammas enjoyed herself too. I like her a lot and hope to be much better aquainted with her in the future.

Yet Another Working Day

Today while I was working, Hu decided to freak me out and put on a mask and don a knife like he was going to murder me in my sleep.

I tried to ignore him and continue working. I was really close to finishing my dresses at that point. I worked for a long time and before I had realized how many hours had passed, Jasmyn invited me over to view the store she is so kindly building for me.

I think it is coming along really well and she says she is learning a lot from it, so that is good! I look forward to seeing the end result!

Moving right along

Today, I had the pleasure of seeing Hu's finished project - larger than life itself!

Kira had just rented another location to sell her shapes in, so I joined her there so we could work together. Miss Jasmyn Tammas joined us and broke our silence into a lively conversation! She is quite delightful and I hope to get to know her better. Kira helped her work on her personal shape a bit and she advised us both in aesthetics of our work. I was appreciative to have an additional opinion on it all. I am sure that by tomorrow Kira will have the new store set up entirely. I can't wait to have mine up and running. I put the finishing touches on the purple, white, and black dresses tongiht, as well as completed the dress in dark red and pink. I started dark yellow, but the color was too green and was not an appealing color at all, so threw in the towel on that one. Back to the color board tomorrow!
